for those not in the know, night witches were russian lady bombers who bombed the shit out of german lines in WW2. Thing is though, they had the oldest, noisiest, crappest planes in the entire world. The engines used to conk out halfway through their missions, so they had to climb out on the wings mid flight to restart the props. the planes were also so noisy that to stop germans from hearing them combing and starting up their anti aircraft guns, they’d climb up to a certain height, coast down to german positions, drop their bombs, restart their engines in midair, and get the fuck out of dodge.
their leader flew over 200 missions and was never captured.

i was just talking about these women because god damn they were metal as fuck

Women: I liked the colors of their clothing; the way they walked; the cruelty in some faces; now and then the almost pure beauty in another face, totally and enchantingly female. They had it over us: they planned much better and were better organized. While men were watching professional football or drinking beer or bowling, they, the women, were thinking about us, concentrating, studying, deciding - whether to accept us, discard us, exchange us, kill us or whether simply to leave us.

Charles Bukowski “Women” (via takesamuscle)

Girls, someone found out our secret and have put it on paper for all the male world to learn. This is unacceptable. XD

Why Anderson Cooper, aside from my own Man, is the coolest bloke on my planet. :D

Pretty sure this will get into his Ridiculist?

anderson:

Anderson Cooper to ‘Human Barbie’: I honestly have nothing more to talk to you about. I got to be honest. I got to just stop. I’m sorry. I try to be really polite to all my guests, I just think you’re dreadful and I honestly don’t want to talk to you anymore. I just got to stop. [x]

African Queens

Exert from Max Dashu’s Women’s Power dvd, from the suppressed Histories Archives

Africa is rich in positive female history and famous for its queens.

Queen Yaa Asantewaa, Queen Nzingha, Queen Hapersheput, Queen Nefetari and Queen Cleopatra.

What is more troubling than this oddly timed debate about birth control is the vehemence with which I have seen women needing to justify or explain why they take birth control—health reasons, to regulate periods, you know, as if there’s anything wrong with taking birth control simply because you want to have sex without that sex resulting in pregnancy. In certain circles, birth control is being framed as whore medicine so we are now dealing with a bizarre new morality where a woman cannot simply say, in one way or another, “I’m on the pill because I like dick.
